With one foot in stripped-back, dubby, Malmö-influenced minimal house, and the other in percussive, melodic, Nairobi-rooted deep house, Raj Shindi crafts a sound shaped by movement, place, and deep musical curiosity.Originally introduced to electronic music as a raver within Nairobi’s growing underground scene around 2010, Raj’s initial connection to club culture was first forged on dancefloors. A love for hypnotic 4x4 rhythms, an instinct for underground cuts, and an ever-expanding music collection soon led him to step into DJing, where he quickly became known for his deep, groove-led selections and long-form storytelling sets.Now based in Malmö since 2016, Raj Shindi continues to evolve his sound, drawing from house, dub, disco, and techno while channeling the contrasting influences of East Africa and Scandinavia.Whether behind the decks or in the studio, his music reflects a deep respect for underground culture, groove-driven minimalism, and a commitment to sound that is subtle, immersive, and emotionally resonant.
